what's inside the Mindful Mystery Writer's masterclass?
Here's what pays to learn from someone who's gone before you: I know exactly why writers have trouble starting - or finishing - their books and exactly where they get stuck.
Module 1: The Mindful Path. I’m going to show you how to integrate the practices you need in your daily life to keep that creative mojo working for you.
Before we start writing, we need to set ourselves up for long-term creative success. This module is where we’re going to dive in and look at all the practices that have saved my creative life, from journaling to meditation to setting up your sacred space so the muse knows where to find you.
Module 2: If this is your first time writing a novel, it’s going to be a lot more daunting to think of the whole project as one task. Even if this is NOT your first time writing a novel but maybe your first time writing a mystery, it’s going to be a lot easier to tackle this in steps and stages, understanding the flow of how a mystery works.
This is where you’re going to start putting the pieces in place to get your book done: World building. We’re going to cover all the elements your story needs to get started–how to organize your book within the three-act structure, your setting, your hook, your characters, your plot, and your theme.
Module 3: We’re starting at…the beginning.
Yes, I know it sounds intuitive, but there’s a whole art and science to what goes into your beginning. In this module, we’re going to cover the key points that you need to hit in the beginning of your book - from introducing your cast, to setting up your town, to the inciting incident.
Module 4: For many writers, the middle is the hardest part. This is where a lot of writers get stuck. It’s easy to flounder around after your exciting beginning. You might even be able to see the end, the big showdown scene. But sometimes getting from A to Z feels impossible.
In this module, you’re going to learn how to tackle the middle of your book by weaving in secondary storylines, clues, red herrings and all the things that keep your readers guessing right along with your sleuth as they work to solve this mystery. You’ll learn how to pace your story, what makes a compelling Black Moment, and how to put it all together.
Act 2 is really important, because it’s where your story can get lost or feel adrift. And if your reader feels adrift, they’ll put your book down.
Module 5: I’ll show you how to end your book while leaving the door open for the next book in your series. From the final twist to the heart-pounding climax to wrapping up all your threads, you’ll learn how to deliver an ending that will satisfy your readers and have them lining up to preorder the next book.
The end is all about tying everything that’s happened so far in your story together. It’s where you bring your reader back to your theme, where your character arc is satisfied–at least for this book–your mystery is solved, your subplots are tied up just as satisfactorily and everything comes together in a satisfying way.
Plus, these bonuses to supercharge your momentum, get the support you need and accountability to keep going!

That feeling of being called to Write and having a story to tell —
that’s called intuition.
You deserve to follow it.
Let’s get real for a second, friend
You’ve always wanted to write, but someone told you that writing wasn't worth your time. That the market is crowded, publishing is hard, it takes too long.
So you put your creativity on hold and figured it wasn't worth your time.
And guess what—there were MANY someones who told me all of the above, and more.
So what did I do? Proved them wrong, of course!
But…it took a long time, some big mindset shifts, and most of all, a dedication to my computer and getting my butt in the chair. And a lifelong dream to see my stories out in the world.
I know, you may be thinking…
“But Cate! I don’t have time to write. I need big chunks of time and I JUST DON’T HAVE THEM.”
“Even when I can find time, I can’t get my mind quiet enough to focus.”
Or, “I have no idea how to write a book. Maybe I should give up on the idea of being a writer.”
Some of you may even be thinking, What the hell is wrong with me for not making time for my dreams?
Trust me, I’ve been there. I’ve felt lost and uncreative. I know what it feels like to have my soul sucked out of me at a job I hate, all the while cursing the hours ticking by where I could have been writing. I also know how it feels to come home from that job and have no creative brain cells available.
But still, I wrote. And wrote. And wrote until it paid off.
What does this mean for you? It means I’m the person who can get you from all those poopy thoughts and beliefs to an inspired, productive, creative SUPERSTAR.
To a place where writing is a priority. Where you wake up inspired. You have a structure/plan/program that works for you. You schedule your writing into your life—and it's a joyful process, not full of stress and frustration.
To someone who is living your dream.
Sounds good, right?
If you're ready to make that dream come true, then join me. I can't wait to meet you inside the class.
